Ronal Infante Transdisciplinary Design Lead
Digital / Physical / Service

While I was in college, I worked with Housing & Dining almost every summer. I started off as a Summer Conference Assistant in 2014, checking guests in and out on a database, distributing keys, collecting money for parking passes and other items, and responding to guest service calls at all hours of the night. I loved the hands-on experience and the team atmosphere so much that I returned every summer afterwards!

As an Office Coordinator the next two summers, I worked directly with the Senior Operations Managers to respond to guest needs as the first point of contact. Office Coordinators had the authority to provide guests with additional services and facilities at any time and communicate the changes with the rest of the team. The Summer Conferences program grew a lot over those three summers and our responsibilities grew as well. I learned how to respond to sensitive situations in a timely, courteus manner via email, phone, and in person. Sometimes the student workers were the ones who addressed the issues. For more advanced, technical solutions, we knew who to call. Our work was often very fast-paced and we interacted with a wide range of guests (children, international visitors, students, and seniors).

See below for additional job details:
